Today, Atmus is excited to announce the promotion of Anthony Cieri to Executive Director and Deputy General Counsel. With over two decades of experience in law firms, private companies and public companies, Anthony will have direct responsibility for legal matters at Atmus. He will provide direct support across several disciplines, including mergers and acquisitions (M & A), finance, commercial and HR, and lead the teams responsible for litigation and risk, trade compliance, commercial, labor and employment, and intellectual property matters. Anthony will also lead the Legal, Ethics and Compliance team alongside colleague Tiffany Williams.
Anthony began his career in the private sector, advising clients on general corporate law, corporate finance, securities law and corporate governance. During those years, he led and/or executed a variety of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and venture capital investments. Following his time in private practice, Anthony served as Deputy General Counsel and Chief M & A Counsel for nine years at Valvoline, completing over 125 M & A transactions to expand the Valvoline Instant Oil Change store count and handling and/or managing commercial, real estate and franchising matters for the Valvoline business.
Since joining Atmus in 2023, Anthony has demonstrated a commitment to the company’s core values. Notably, Anthony has embodied the Atmus value of build trust, building strong relationships across Atmus’ business functions and advising the Atmus Leadership Team on legal and compliance matters and in support of critical business activity. His transparent and honest nature positions him well for success in this role.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and earned his Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
Atmus congratulates Anthony Cieri on his well-deserved promotion and looks forward to the continued impact he will have as Executive Director and Deputy General Counsel.
